Grants Programme in ATU Gagauzia Region


In the ATU Gagauzia development region (Comrat, Ceadir-Lunga, Vulcanesti rayons), the implementation of the Local Grants Programme is carried out by the European Centre ”Pro-Europa” from Comrat in partnership with the National Centre for Assistance and Information of NGOs from Moldova CONTACT.


European Centre ”Pro-Europa” from Comrat
has been registered at the Department of Justice of ATU Gagauzia under no. 351 on 01/25/2012. The organisation is a non-governmental, non-political, independent, non-profit institution. Its activities are of public benefit nature. 


Mission of the organisation:
Creation of an effective mechanism for promoting a new type of society, which are components of democracy, human rights, the rule of law and European culture in the territory of ATU Gagauzia. European Centre ”Pro-Europa” from Comrat brings its contribution for the development of Gagauz civil society through information and consulting services, technical and institutional support, developing and deepening the collaboration between public local authorities, non-governmental organisations and mass media institutions in solving the issues of local communities and as well as developing the volunteering in the region.


National Assistance and Information Centre for NGOs in Moldova CONTACT
is an independent non-governmental non-profit organisation that contributes to the development of civil society in the Republic of Moldova by offering information and advice services, training and facilitation, grants and technical assistance.


Mission
of the Centre CONTACT is supporting democratic processes in society, building civil society by encouraging civic initiative, promoting and implementing ideas of an open society.

The amount available
for grants in ATU Gagauzia region is 300,000 EUR. 


First call for proposals

The first grants competition for local non-governmental organizations in ATU Gagauzia region was launched in November 2019, when 29 project proposals were received. As a result of the evaluation process, 9 organizations were selected and awarded with grants in the total amount of 276,813 Euro.

Second call for proposals

The second grants competition for local non-governmental organizations in ATU Gagauzia region was launched in December 2020, and 3 project proposals were received. As a result of the evaluation process, 1 organization was selected and awarded with grant in the amount of aprox. 23,000 Euro.

The Local Grants Programme
is launched under the Single Support Framework for European Union (EU) support to Moldova (2017-2020) within the European Neighbourhood Instrument through the Action "Citizens' Empowerment in the Republic of Moldova" (2019 -2021) and implemented by the German Development Cooperation through GIZ.
